PURPOSE:

To test the integrity of the Hepa filter after installation.

Step 1:
• Remove mask of hepa filter box (if any) before performing the test get access to the filter media surface.
Step 2:
• The PAO aerosol to be introduced upstream at the negative pressure plenum of equipment, create a challenge aerosol concentration in front of the hepa filter.
Step 3:
• Check the upstream challenge aerosol concentration and adjust concentration within limit from 20 to 25 µg/l of air is satisfactory by using the upstream port.
Step 4:

• In upstream position of scan photometer, adjust the concentration upstream from the filter to read 100% value.

• In downstream position of scan photometer, adjust to read 0% value.

Step 5:
• Test the downstream position and scan the total surface of the filter and the edges of filter frame. Hold the probe approximately 2.5 cm from the filter surface with a scanning speed of not more than 50 mm/s.
